Oceanside Outrigger Canoe Club's One-man / Two-man / Surfski storage
Rules for one-man and two-man storage at the boat yard

1.       Keeping things orderly is important.

2.       No equipment may be stored on the ground. It must all be on racks.

3.       No personal equipment may be stored in the shed.

4.       One-man and two-man canoes and surf skis only.

5.       Fees, non-transferable

6.       One spot per club member.  In some years the board may choose to allow club members a second spot, but it is only guaranteed for that calendar year.  Any second spot is temporary, for that year only, and does not qualify for priorty placement in a subsequent year.

7.       Paid up club members in good standing only

8.       $180 per calendar year no partial year payments.  For 2008 only, if a paid spot is vacated BEFORE June 30, $90 will be refunded.  The ONLY exception is a canoe placed in the yard anytime after June 30 will only be charged $90 to cover the period from payment until December 31, 2008.

9.       First come first serve then wait list.  If you haven't paid within 10 days of being offered a spot or if you don't have a canoe placed in the yard within 30 days of being assigned a spot you are moved to the bottom of the list and  the next person on the list moves to the top.  This is to ensure that the maximum number of canoes can be stored in the yard and that paying to hold a spot without having a canoe is discouraged.

10.   Storage fees and all membership fees (including dues) are due January 1 in each calendar year and if delinquent on February 1 canoes will be evicted.  Canoes in this category may be placed on top of the sheds, or removed the yard at the owners own risk.

11.   All canoes are stored at your own risk.  Oceanside Outrigger is not responsible for any damage that occurs to any canoe not owned by the club.  Make sure you have your own insurance to cover the cost of replacement and repair of your personal property.

Oceanside Outrigger Canoe Club's Ko’o Program Helps Paddlers Financially

Oceanside Outrigger’s Ko’o Program goes both ways.  The club supports members that have trouble paying dues by supporting part or all of their membership dues and in turn, the Ko’o recipient members help the club by volunteering in meaningful ways to keep Oceanside Outrigger running smoothly.  The amount of financial support and the kinds of volunteer service are worked out between the Ko’o recipient and the Oceanside Outrigger Board of Directors.

Oceanside Outrigger’s by-laws state that an amount equal to up to five percent of the club’s annual membership funds from the previous year may be applied to membership grants on an as-needed basis.  We also accept donations specifically earmarked for the Ko’o program.

I’m interested.  What do I do?  Potential Oceanside Outrigger Ko’o Program participants should contact the treasurer for consideration and provide in writing a statement of need and a statement of intent to contribute, in ways other than financial, to the club.  Ideas for non-financial contributions to Oceanside Outrigger include, but are not limited to, activities listed here under “Ways for You to do Your Part.”

I’m still interested.  How does the club decide who gets to be a Oceanside Outrigger Ko’o Program Participant?  The treasurer forwards requests to the Board of Directors who will consider them based on some or all of the following criteria:  evaluation of statement of need, evaluation of statement of intent, previous non-monetary contributions to the club, level of participation in club activities and other factors deemed appropriate by the Board.  Evaluation of Ko’o Program Participant requests will be handled confidentially by the board in a closed session for voting board members only.

Applications accepted from January 1 through March 1 every year.
